Kelly Carrone, LMSW

Kelly Carrone, LMSW is a thoughtful and compassionate psychotherapist who offers a collaborative and nonjudgmental space for clients navigating complex personal, relational, and systemic challenges. Grounded in trauma- and neurodiversity-informed care, Kelly works with individuals whose experiences, identities, or ways of relating to the world may not align with mainstream expectations or norms.

Their areas of focus include complex and acute trauma, healing from abusive relationships, identity exploration, relationship dynamics, divorce, anxiety, mood disorders, parenting, ADHD/AuDHD, and systems/alters. Kelly brings deep awareness to the ways culture, family, community, and internalized narratives shape self-understanding, relationships, and mental health.

Using a synergistic, client-focused approach, Kelly helps clients uncover their strengths, build resilience, and move toward deeper connection, healing, and self-actualization. Their work draws from a blend of evidence-based and creative modalities — including Somatic Experiencing, parts work and archetypal exploration, DBT, CBT, psychodrama, expressive arts, play therapy, self-reparenting, and intuitive practices that support each client’s innate capacity to heal. Kelly is always interested in the art you are making, the books you are reading, or the new music you found, especially as a vehicle to delve into deeper issues.

Kelly is completing Level 3 of the Intermediate Somatic Experiencing training and welcomes clients who are curious about or drawn to this approach. They hold a Master of Social Work from the University at Albany and bachelor’s degrees in Psychology (University at Albany) and Sociology (Brandeis University). Before entering clinical practice, Kelly worked in alternative education, cooperatives, mutual aid, and academia. They currently provide telehealth therapy to clients throughout New York State.
